EXL Service BPO: dazzles job applicants
By Juan Dela Cruz

I went out of my way to visit the newest Indian BPO to hit the block in the Philippines this month. EXL Service BPO, headquartered in New York, USA is headed by their CEO Vikram Talwar, one of the most prominent and successful Indians in the Call Centre industry. Following the recent trend of Indian BPO’s setting up shop in the Philippines, EXL have also planted their feet in Philippines and made it their second home for their delivery centers. Their new building at One E-com Center is their 9th Delivery site and their first outside India. Other delivery centers are in Pune, Gurgaon and several in Noida.

I joined their open house at their facility this week to see what all the fuss and newspaper hype with EXL Service was all about. Needless to say, they did not disappoint. I was joined by about 50 prospective applicants that day and we were in awe with their brand new sparkling premises in Manila! I have seen my share of Call Center digs in my career but I’m definitely sure this EXL Service building takes the cake when it comes to setting high standards for the industry.

Our Indian tour guides led us all around their snazzy site. Notable in our tour was their separate sleeping quarters for men and women, a huge open air space at the 4th floor they call Central Plaza, and they also have their own company gym with showers. The most notable for me personally was their daycare center. No other call center or BPO company in the Philippines offers this convenient service to their employees.

Although, I went there “just for fun”, I was definitely impressed. Impressed enough to think about recommending EXL Service to anyone! They’ve got 8 other delivery centers in India but I really wonder if they offer the same facilities to them.

EXL is planning to go live in May, 2008.
